DUBBLE BUBBLE FAQ

Q: How do I get my Bubble Balloons to float for 3 - 5 weeks?

A: You must inflate 100% wrinkle-free using the same equipment you use to inflate your latex balloons. NEVER use the automatic shutoff inflator for the OUTER Bubble because it does not have enough power to inflate a Bubble 100% wrinkle-free. The automatic shutoff should only be used for the INNER balloon.

Q: How much should Bubble Balloons be inflated?

A: The INNER balloon should be inflated like a shaped foil balloon. The OUTER balloon should always be inflated 100% completely wrinkle-free like a beach ball. The sides should be as smooth as the front of the balloon. In order to achieve a wrinkle-free Bubble, make sure you are using Moist-Pak packaged Bubble Balloons; if not prepackaged in a Moist-Pak, please click here.

Q: What do I do if my inner balloon shrinks once inflating the outer balloon?

A: Use the same equipment you use to inflate your LATEX balloons and add the SLIGHTEST amount of helium to the inner balloon. Do not overinflate the inner balloon because this may cause it to pop.

Once the outer bubble has been inflated, the automatic shut-off regulator will not have enough power to add any more helium to the inner balloon.

Usually unnoticable to the eye, the inner balloon always deflates once the outer balloon is fully inflated. Depending upon how much helium was put into the inner balloon initially will depend on whether the shinkage is noticable or not.

If (and only if) using an automatic shutoff inflator, put the maximum amount of helium into the inner balloon. If your tank is low or if your brand of inflator is less powerful, you may notice this shrinkage more than other times.

Q: Why does my inner balloon tilt to one side (not stand straight)?

A: Some of the inner balloons naturally tilt to one side. If you over inflate the outer balloon far past the wrinkle-free zone this may cause the inner to tilt. DO NOT add more helium to the inner balloon to make it stand up straight; this will not fix it. If your inner balloon shrank, please read question above.

Some of the inner balloon segments may need straightening BEFORE inflating the OUTER bubble to its full extent. Once you inflate the inner balloon, press on the smaller balloon segments outwards away from the main part of the inner balloon (eg. press the butterfly away from the flower balloon). This can be done in a couple seconds and makes the final look of the balloon more attractive.

Q: Do Bubble Balloons pop?

A: OUTER BALLOON: The outer balloon will pop during inflation if it was left out of it's Moist-Pak package in an air conditioned or dry location. Always inflate immediately upon opening of package. The outer balloon will also pop if in contact with sharp or extremely hot objects or if taken out into the direct sunlight where heat is scorching over 122 degrees F.

A. INNER BALLOON: If the inner balloon pops, this is generally due to over inflation or over expansion due to change to higher temperature. The inner balloon is similar to a shaped foil balloon. If you experience the inner balloon popping, you may want to underinflate it slightly (this may be necessary in hotter months of the year). It is always a good idea in the Summer to request that consumers turn their air conditioners on in the car before putting the balloons in there. All balloons pop in hot cars!

Q: How can I refill a Bubble Balloon?

A: To refill a Bubble Balloon you must first inflate the inner balloon and then inflate the outer balloon. Although it may look as if the INNER balloon does not need more helium, that extra tiny tad of helium will make all the difference in the appearance of the balloon. Please re-inflate both balloons.

Q: What type of inflator should I use?

A: OUTER BUBBLE: Use the same equipment you use for latex balloons. INNER BALLOON: Use the same equipment used for foil balloons. We have found that the easiest inflator to use is a flexible tilt valve. Do not use the automatic shutoff inflator to complete inflation of the OUTER balloon because it will not inflate 100% wrinkle-free. The automatic shutoff can only be used for the INNER balloon. There are other inflators you can use, please click here to see the variety of equipment you can use.

Q: Can Bubbles be DISPLAYED in cooler/dryer locations?

A: Yes, once you have inflated the Bubble, the plastic film has been stretched. Bubbles can then be taken to cold and dry atmospheres as well as warm and humid atmospheres.

Q: What if I have stored my Bubbles in a dry location, are they usable?

A: Yes. If they are packaged in a Moist-pak they should be fine because it is an airtight package. If they are not packaged, please click here to learn how to quickly hydrate them again before inflating them.

Q: Is the inner balloon made of foil?

A: No, the inner balloon is called a Permacolor. The difference is that the colors (the ink) is actually under the layer of plastic. This is why Permacolors offer fine line printing and a lustrous shine. If you look closely at the print, you will see how the ink plates do not overlap as seen with other standard foil and plastic balloons. This is how we can achieve such detail in print.

Q: How much helium do Bubble Balloons use?

Recommended Wrinkle-Free Inflation= 1.48 cu ft or 42 liters

Q: Can I inflate a Bubble Balloon with an air inflator?

A: Some air inflators do not have enough power to inflate completly wrinkle-free. You may want to try using an air compressor, a nitrogen tank, or even a hand pump.

Q: How can I increase Bubble sales?

A: Balloons are impulse buys. Displaying a large number of WRINKLE-FREE Bubble Balloons floating in different areas of the store will create better sales. Never leave your display looking droopy and old. Bubble Balloons will float for weeks, but after 10 days or so, you should revitalize them with more helium so they always look their best. Because they are refillable, designating certain slow days of the week to inflate large bunches of Bubbles will relieve you of inflation duties during more busy times. Large bunches of balloons sell much better than a few dotted around and getting lost in your store. Ceiling netted corrals are not good for merchandising Bubble Balloons because consumers have a hard time seeing the designs. Bubble Balloons especially should never be put in a corral because the consumer will not realize that there is another balloon inserted inside of it. The best way to merchandise Bubble Balloons is tie each one individually to a weight and have them floating at eye level. This way it is easy for consumers to view the product in an open space and appreciate the 3D look of Bubbles. They can pick up the product by the weight (where the price tag may be attached) and carry it along to the register. Attaching an air inflated Bubble Balloon to the wall is a good idea IN CASE you sell out of the helium inflated ones. Nevertheless, remember that a Bubble Balloon is a 3D balloon and should be viewed from all sides. Have Bubble Balloons inflated with helium, tied to a weight, and ready to go.
